Draws for BOV DIV I to DIV III LEAGUES

The draws for the BOV  First, Second and Third Division Leagues were made today. The draws were made during a press conference held in Floriana, which press conference was addressed by MFA C.E.O. Mr. Bjorn Vassallo and BOV Chief Officer  Michael Galea. The keenly contested divisions will feature a total of 41 teams, 14 teams in the First and Second Division and the remaining in the Third Division. Matches will be played at the Centenary Stadium – Ta’ Qali, Victor Tedesco Stadium - Hamrun and the Luxol Stadium – Pembroke for the First Division, whilst the Luxol Stadium - Pembroke, Charles Abela Stadium - Mosta and Sirens Stadium - San Pawl il-Bahar, will be the venues for the lower divisions.    The MFA’s CEO Bjorn Vassallo echoed the thoughts and satisfaction of the Bank of Valletta official, reiterating the association’s gratitude towards Bank of Valletta for its backing through its sponsorship of the National Leagues. “Thanks to the backing and the steadfast collaboration of BOV in the last years, the association has been able to oversee a great improvement in the way the National Leagues comprising of all divisions is organised and sustained technically and financially. Competition is keen and healthy and the spirit of respect and unity from all the member clubs has reigned supreme. I am confident that this continued co-operation from the Bank will open new horizons for Maltese football and it’s followers.” Mr Galea, on behalf of the BOV said: “This is the tenth consecutive season of collaboration between Bank of Valletta and the Malta Football Association, throughout which years we have seen growth in the number of participating teams as well as in the competitiveness in the different division. “Indeed last year, the majority of the competitions were decided on, or very close to the last day of competition where we witnessed a high level of football as well as a marked improvement in supporter numbers.”MFA Deputy General Secretary Rodney Pisani proceeded to give details about each division. This year's football competitions will kick-off with the BOV Super Cup between Valletta and Birkirkara on Friday, 08th of August 2014 with each division kicking shortly afterwards. The BOV First and Second Division Leagues will kick-off on 12th September 2014, with the Third Division kicking off  two days later. The schedule for Match Day 1 is as follows;  BOV FIRST DIVISION          The Draws AVITTORIOSA S.
