Gianluca Lia Unlike last year, this rivalry match won’t be deciding the title’s fate since Hibernians secured their 11th title last week with an emphatic 6-0 win over Kirkop United while Birkirkara made sure of the 2nd spot by beating Raiders (Luxol) 2-0.  Despite all these verdicts though, both teams want to end their league with a win, especially if it means beating your eternal rival.  Hibernians have not yet beaten Birkirkara this season with the Stripes winning their first encounter 2-0 and the second fixture ending in a 1-1 draw and on the other hand, Birkirkara will try to ruin Hibernians’ celebrations by beating them once again.  In addition to this, a win for either side would be a mental boost prior to their 5th and final encounter of the season (including the BOV Women’s Super-Cup) next week in the Knock Out’s semi-final. A match which won’t have decide anyone’s fate but which promises to deliver an intense battle once again.  From Birkirkara: Promising striker Raina Giusti indicated this match as highly important as a win against their rivals would help them to gather momentum ahead of their knock-out semi-final against the same Paolites.  Moreover she added that it is a pity that they have lost the title in the penultimate match but a good team must always show its identity when they fall. From Hibernians: International midfielder Dorianne Theuma said that their minds are focused on tomorrow’s match and not on the Knock-out semi-final as they want to end their league commitments with a win over their eternal rivals.  Asked about her reactions to their league triumph, Theuma expressed her satisfaction of winning the title for the second consecutive time and underlining the fact that it was a difficult season. Well done all the players and staff members of Hibernians Women’s Team for being crowned the BOV Women’s League for the second time in a row.
