Gianluca Lia An outstanding performance from Maltese international Martina Borg as she netted three times to give Hibernians a 3-1 win while extending their gap atop the BOV Women's First Division League. Mgarr United's youthful squad could not cope with the Paolites' quality despite having also their chances.  Hibernians took charge of the game from the initial minutes and after 6 minutes they took the lead when Ylenia Carabott advanced towards goal, whipped in a cross and with a volley Martina Borg scored her first goal of the night. As time went by, Hibernians kept on bossing the game and after some harmless occasions from Mgarr, the holders started to show their strength. Martina Borg had an individual effort inches wide but few minutes she doubled the lead when Dorianne Theuma's shot was parried by Mgarr's goalkeeper with the rebound dropping on Borg's feet who had the easiest of tasks to make it 2-0. With Hibernians starting the second half in the driving seat, Mgarr's reaction was not enough to harm Hibernians and following a couple of efforts, the Paolites wrapped up the game when Borg netted for the third time. Mgarr United reduced the gap on the 83rd minute with a consolation goal through Brenda Borg. HIBERNIANS: Keoney Demicoli; Charlene Zammit, Dionne Tonna ©, Mandy Debono, Shona Zammit (Rodiana Borg 67'), Ylenia Carabott, Dorianne Theuma, Martina Borg, Corissa Vella White, Jade Flask, Ruth Steer Chatam (Francesca Chircop 61').Coach: Keith Gouder.  MGARR UNITED:Rachel Borg, Antionette Sammut ©, Rebecca D'Agostino, Amber Grech, Nicole Cutajar, Jasmine Vella Turner, Natasha Pace, Claudette Xuereb, Brenda Borg, Yanika Fenech, Thea Difesa.Coach: Ray Vella. Referee - Daniel Casha
