On Sunday 29th May, Malta will be the unusual venue of an international match between Italy and Scotland to be played at the National Stadium, Ta’ Qali  The match organisers, in conjunction with the Malta Football Association, are well aware that such a high-profile match is an attraction in itself in our country as both the Italians and the Scots are well-known among the Maltese football followers. Italy enjoys traditional warm support in Malta while Scotland, being one of the British home countries, also command noteworthy local backing bearing in mind that several of their units play for teams that feature regularly in the English Premier League. Furthermore, given the exposure which several players forming part of both sides have on television, the Italy-Scotland match, although a friendly, is bound to draw many Maltese to the Ta’ Qali stadium to watch the protagonists doing sporting battle from close proximity. Italy, focusing on the Euro 2016 Finals, will regard this encounter as another important stepping-stone in their bid to make a lasting impact on the continental championship in three month’s time. Their 1-1 draw against the accomplished Spain last Thursday has been regarded by many as another positive step by the Italians in the process of making their presence felt in the June competition in France. Scotland, who will be on a summer training camp in Malta, are the only team from the four home countries who failed to qualify for this year’s Euro finals. They will view this match as a build-up for the upcoming World Cup. Scotland may lack the quality prevailing in other top countries but the individual flair of their units and their collective resilience cannot be ignored. In this regard the Scots have the elements that draw respect on the international stage. The match can also be billed as an attraction from the sport-tourism aspect considering the geographical proximity of the two countries, especially that of the Italian peninsula which is the proverbial stone’s throw away from Malta. This factor, the historical and cultural attractiveness of the Maltese islands and the hospitality of our people should strengthen the allure which our islands enjoy. Knowing that the game stands to gain more in its popularity the organisers (San Marco Sports Events s.r.l.), of this warm-up friendly on our shores have had the right intuition when deciding to stage the match in Malta.            MFA on behalf of the match organisers have this morning released the below information regarding ticketing options that are being made available for this match. The match will be played on Sunday 29th May 2016, with a Kick-Off time of 20:45hrs. MATCH TICKET PRICES Stand / SectorTicket Price  - ADULTTicket Price  -  CHILD (Under 12)NORTH andSOUTH Stands€ 26€ 15MILLENNIUM D andF Stands€ 50€ 30WEST A andWEST C Stands€ 75n/aWEST B VIP€ 100(A limited  number are available for sale upon request)n/a   CORPORATE SEATING OPTIONS A range of Corporate Seating Options are also being made available for the below Stadium Sectors:MILLENNIUM EStand  -  LEVEL 2MILLENNIUM EStand  -  LEVEL 3MILLENNIUM EStand  -  SKY BOXESInterested organisations are to contact MFA’s Marketing Department for further information Notes. ALL Stadium Sectors will be opened for this matchThe sale of tickets for the SOUTH STAND of the National Stadium will be reserved for visiting Scottish fans;As per the normal practice Sectors WEST A, B and  C will be on allocated seating,However, seating at Millennium Sectors D and F, as well as the North and South Stands will be on a free seating basis; There will also be a limited number of spaces at the West A Stand and the Millennium Stand E and F for persons making use of a wheelchair.
