Hibernians winger Joseph Mbong has completed his loan move to Croatian club NK Inter Zapresic. Mbong, 19, has joined Zapresic, who play in the top division of Croatian football, on loan until the end of the season but the club has an option to make his move permanent come May. Mbong, who was part of the Malta U-21 squad that collected 11 points in the last UEFA U-21 Championship qualifying campaign - a record for Maltese football, made his final appearance for Hibernians this season in last weekend's BOV Premier League 2-1 defeat to Birkirkara. Speaking to www.mfa.com.mt prior to his departure to Croatia earlier this week, Mbong said: “My aim is to learn as much as I can and experience the demands of playing at a higher level. “I want to improve as a player and make the most of this experience.” Mbong and his Malta U-21 team-mates have been nominated by the Malta Football Association for the team of the year award at the SportMalta Awards L-Għażliet Sportivi Nazzjonali while coach Silvio Vella is a contender for the coach accolade.
