Malta FA referee Jude Amin Utulu will travel to the Bahamas on Friday after being named in a pool of 24 beach soccer referees from 24 different countries, representing six confederations, to officiate in the FIFA Beach Soccer World Cup Bahamas 2017.  All matches, from April 27 until May 7, will be played at the National Beach Soccer Arena in Malcom Park, Nassau. Sixteen nations, divided into four groups, will be involved in the qualifying stage, with the first two teams in each group progressing to the quarter-finals. This year marks a first for the FIFA Beach Soccer World Cup as the event is being staged for the first time in the CONCACAF region. This Caribbean island of Bahamas has pristine sands, and a rich culture to go along with friendly and excitable citizens who, of course, are aficionados of the sport.
