St Andrews secured the Youth League Section A title on Thursday following a 6-0 victory over Mosta at the Luxol Stadium. The Saints had to win their final league game to assure themselves of top spot and the most coveted honour in youth football. They completed the job in style, dominating their game against Mosta. Their scorers on the day were Kyrian Nwoko, Aidan Friggieri, Jamie Magri Overand, Kevin Ferraro, Liam Grech and Jacob Walker. Rodney Pisani, the Malta FA Deputy General Secretary, presented the U-19 league winners’ trophy to the jubilant St Andrews players. St Andrews finished with a total of 40 points, two ahead of Sliema Wanderers whose 3-0 victory over Hibernians at the Centenary Stadium proved futile. A relegation decider is needed after Pembroke Athleta joined Hibs on the 17-point mark following a 2-1 win over Birkirkara on Thursday. Vittoriosa Stars withdrew from the competition earlier in the season.
