Once again, the coming weekend will see another referees exchange taking place as part of agreements continuously being reached with other European Football Associations. This time, local referees will be travelling to Wales to officiate in their top league while Welsh match officials will be coming over to take charge of BOV Premier League matches.    The respective assignments are as follows:  Maltese referees appointed for matches by the Welsh FA  On Friday 28th September, Elite Referee Referee Malcolm Spiteri together with Elite Assistant Referees Sammy Attard and Alexander Grech, and Elite Referee Andre` Arciola as 4th Official, will be in charge of Prestatyn vs GAP Connahs’ Quay. On Saturday 29th September, Elite Referee Andre` Arciola together with Elite Assistant Referees Sammy Attard and Alexander Grech, and Malcolm Spiteri as 4th Official, will be in charge of Airbus UK Broughton vs Aberystwyth Town. Such an opportunity for top referees and assistant referees to officiate abroad is an avenue for further development; in fact Elite Assistant Referee Alexander Grech will be making his international debut abroad, while Elite Referee Malcolm Spiteri’s only other appearances in international football were two matches as 4th Official. Referees from Wales  appointed for matches by the Malta FA On Saturday 29th September, Richard Harrington,  together with Assistant Referees             Daniel Beckett and Lewiss Edwards, and  Bryn Markham-Jones as 4th Official, will be in charge of Rabat Ajax vs Sliema Wanderers at the National Stadium, Ta’ Qali (kick-off 15.00). On Sunday 30th September, Bryn Markham-Jones, together with Assistant Referees  Daniel Beckett and  Lewiss Edwards, and Richard Harrington as 4th Official, will be in charge of  Tarxien Rainbows vs Birkirkara at the National Stadium, Ta’ Qali (kick-off 15.00). (Other referees’ exchanges in October will be announced shortly).
