Thrilling encounters mark start of Malta BOV ePremier League Knockout Stage

The Malta BOV ePremier League 2023/24 Knockout Stage kicked off dramatically, with four nail-biting matches keeping viewers on the edge of their seats.

The night began with a nail-biting encounter between Hamrun Spartans and Sliema Wanderers.

The two teams battled to a thrilling 6-6 draw, with Sliema eventually securing victory through a tense penalty shootout. Valletta then displayed their dominance with a hard-fought 3-2 win over Marsaxlokk.

The later matches provided no shortage of excitement either. Birkirkara continued their impressive form from the Group Stage, defeating Naxxar Lions 6-4. Mosta also showcased their attacking prowess with a convincing 6-3 victory against Gzira United.

Following these results, Sliema Wanderers will face Valletta in a highly anticipated Winners Bracket clash. Meanwhile, Birkirkara will look to continue their winning streak against Mosta in the other Winners Bracket match.

The drama doesn't end there!  The losing teams – Hamrun Spartans, Marsaxlokk, Naxxar Lions, and Gżira United – will battle it out in the Losers’ Bracket, where one defeat spells elimination.

All four matches of the next round will be broadcast live on TVMSport+ on Friday 12th April 2024, starting at 9 pm.
