Valletta lost 0-1 to FK Qarabagh in the first leg of the UEFA Champions League second qualifying round.

It was an early freekick which made the whole difference. Valletta goalkeeper Nicky Vella saved a penalty late in the game, just after Ryan Camilleri was sent off.
