B’Kara beat 2013-14 double winners Valletta 2-1, in an entertaining and what can be considered an above average season opener to win the 2014 BOV Super Cup.

This was the seventh success for the stripes in the competition, who were the better side during the first half of the match and could have added to the 16th minute goal score by E. Dos Santos Gonzaga.

Champions Valletta stepped up their efforts after the break and managed a 57th minute header following a glancing header by defender J. Caruana.

It did not take long for B’Kara to regain the upperhand and their efforts where rewarded pn 69 minutes when B’Kara defender managed to get past the Valletta rearguard on the left side, driving the ball low across the six yard area for E. Herrera to bolt the ball into the back of the net from a far post position.
