Pietro Ghedin appointed National Team Coach

During yesterday’s Council Meeting, MFA President Norman Darmanin Demajo announced that Pietro Ghedin has been released from his contract with FIGC and will officially take over as Malta coach this Thursday.    Ghedin has signed a three-and-a-half-year contract with the MFA taking him through to the 2014 World Cup and Euro 2016 qualifiers. Ghedin, who coached the Italy women's team before accepting the MFA proposal, met the members of the Malta Executive Committee who ratified his appointment. Pietro Ghedin was Malta’s National Team coach between July 1993 and Novemeber1995 and during this spell he led the team for 24 matches, winning 4 and managing a draw in 5 others The full record reads   Pl24     W4     D5     L15    GF16     GA39  Ghedin's first task will be to prepare the national squad for upcoming friendly matches, against Luxembourg on June 2 and San Marino on August 14, (both away)
