Just before the official training at the National Stadium Pietro Ghedin together with the national team player Bjorn Kristensen and goalkeeper Andrew Hogg addressed the media present. The team has been preparing since Friday for the much awaited double encounter against Norway on Friday and Italy on Monday.  Andrew Hogg said,”First things first - we are concentrated on the match against Norway. Against Slovakia and Croatia I believe we showed a good tactical disposition and discipline. I strongly believe that we are a squad that other teams feel uncomfortable to play against and yes we should come across as that kind of team and that should be our aim for this group.” Bjorn Kristensen was asked how he is feeling now that he is being introduced to the national squad after doing well with the under-21 and replied, “well I know most of the players before training with them at since a young age, I got to know them much better, now that I am in the squad its god to be here working hard, to try and stay in the squad and get some minutes to play”. Andrew and Bjorn were asked if they consider Norway as one of the toughest squads in the group Andrew replied “At this level there are no easy games and I mean we are looking to play as if we are facing the same team all the time, everyone is tough. We need to go out there with the same mentality and fight to achieve a result.” To the same question Bjorn said “Playing Norway and Italy, whoever, If we stay disciplined tactically we can give a hard match to anyone” Pietro focused on the match to come and remembered the last two matches where he feels the team has played very well, were we changed the style of play. He said” in this group we have strong opponents and all the games will be tough. We have to play like these last two matches and we are satisfied by the performance but we need to build on them. I hope that the players tomorrow want to played little bit better than what we showed abroad.” Regarding injuries the coach reiterated that there are small niggling injuries which is normal but he said that the eleven utilised against Croatia are more or less confirmed to start but of course we have Steve Borg suspended and Jonathan Caruana out injured. The coach said he is very happy about his 23 man squad and he is sure that he will be putting the best players on the pitch.
