Duties of football social responsibility committee

The first ever meeting of the Football Social Responsibility (FSR) committee was held on Tuesday the 2nd December under the chairmanship of Dr George Abela. The terms of reference of this committee is co-ordinating and approving all future FSR initiatives in the contest of working towards an inclusion and diversity policy for football in Malta. The committee is also engaged in overseeing and managing the ‘Captains of Change’ programme that UEFA are in the process of introducing. It is to be noted that the European football body has chosen the MFA as one of 13 associations to pilot the project. During the first meeting held at the MFA’s Headquarters at Ta’ Qali, the introduction of a safeguarding policy for children was also discussed. This meeting was under the co-ordination of Maria Mifsud, the MFA Deputy General Secretary (Youth Development & Education) and Head of the FSR department.
