Gianluca Lia  Having seen their title aspirations blown off in the loss against Mgarr United, Birkirkara aim to take maximum points from their next encounter to make sure of finishing alone in 2nd place. The Stripes are currently 6 points ahead of their next opponents, Raiders (Luxol) together with Mgarr United. On the other hand, Raiders are challenging for the 3rd place alongside Mgarr United but they are aware of the fact that with a win against Birkirkara they could reach Birkirkara in 2nd place. Birkirkara have won both previous encounters against Raiders, 2-1 the first meeting back in December and the last encounter was back in February when they won with a goal in the 85th minute which kept their title hopes momentary alive. With Birkirkara aiming to get back to winning ways and Raiders challenging for the 3rd place, this encounter has got the right ingredients to be a thrilling one.   From Raiders (Luxol): Captain Emma Xuereb eased off pressure from her team by saying that they must play without any pressure or fear despite the importance of the match. She added that although Mgarr United have beaten Birkirkara in their last meeting does not mean they will play with any pressure and it only shows that in football anything can happen. In her opinion, the most important thing to do is to play their game with the aim of winning the match. From Birkirkara: Captain Steph Farrugia emphasized on the frequent injuries they had during this campaign which probably had a negative impact on their outcome having lost the title. On the other hand though, she still believes in her team’s ability and she is optimistic for their next encounter. She added there is no particular pressure on the team and now they will be striving to win the domestic knock out competition.
