On Wednesday 3 June a Memorandum of Understanding was signed between Europol and Sportradar when Europol’s deputy director Wil van Gemert met officials of Sportradar at their offices in London.  After opportunities for information and expertise-sharing were discussed between the parties concerned Wil van Gemert and Sportradar’s CEO Carsten Koerl signed the Memorandum of Understanding whereby the two sides joined forces to embark on agreed initiatives. This MoU comes in the wake of some of the intelligence-based partnerships which were secured in recent months. Both Europol and Sportradar remain committed to providing valuable input into investigations and prosecutions across countries in Europe and beyond. As part of this Memorandum both parties will actively engage in the exchange of expertise, statistical data, information and/or trends as they relate to sporting integrity. Andreas Krannich of Sportradar said that the signing of the MOU was a proud occasion for them and they were humbled by the trust shown by such a pivotal institution of Europol’s repute.
