After her UEFA appointment early this month as the referee of the UEFA Women’s Champions League Round of 32 match between Olimpia Cluj Napoca (Romania) and Paris Saint-Germain (France), and as referee of the Women’s International Friendly Match Estonia vs Malta in Talinn two weeks ago, the MFA Refereeing Department announces another international appointment for FIFA Referee Esther Azzopardi early next week.


Esther Azzopardi will be the referee of the Women’s EURO 2017 Group 1 Qualifying stage match, Slovenia vs Iceland, being played on Monday 26th October at the Sportni Park in Lendava, Slovenia.  The match kicks off at 18:00 CET. 


Esther Azzopardi shall be assisted by FIFA officials Araksya Saribekyan (Armenia) and May Moalem (Israel) as Assistant Referees, and Petra Bombek (Slovenia) as 4th Official.


This will be an important assignment for Esther Azzopardi in front of the watchful eyes of UEFA Referee Observer Andreas Schluchter (Switzerland).


The UEFA Delegate for this match will be Sanna Pirhonen (Finland).
