A mouth-watering contest will be played this evening as the top two teams in the BOV Women’s Second Division League, Swieqi United and Gozo FC, will be facing each other. Both teams will be looking at this encounter as the ideal opportunity to make a bold title statement since they are the main challengers for the title.

With the Gozitans leading ahead of Swieqi by two points, a win tomorrow would mean extending their lead to five points while strengthening their title ambitions. On the other side, Swieqi are striving to take maximum points and eventually sole leadership which would once again change the whole plot of the race for the second division’s title.

The two players who will be wearing the armband and guiding their teams this evening; Daniela Casha for Swieqi and Julia Vella for Gozo, expressed their thoughts to our page regarding this crucial encounter.

Swieqi United:

Daniela Casha (Midfielder; Captain): ‘’We are currently two points behind Gozo, so this is a very important game for us. It was clear from the start that Gozo were one of the favourites for the second division league title. We are greatly looking forward to this challenging encounter and have been preparing very hard for this game. The team is focused and ready to do the best we can on the pitch. It is surely not a game to be missed, as both teams will be playing to earn their place on top of the table.’’

Gozo FC:

Julia Vella (Midfielder; Captain): ‘’I think we have prepared well for this match and each one of us is looking forward for this encounter. Despite we are still in the early stages of the season, these three points would mean a lot for us so I encourage my team mates to give their all and hopefully we will be able to get a positive result.’’
