Following their Girls Nursery's launch on the 17th October at the Tigne Complex, Sliema Wanderers have continued with their mission in increasing the number of girls at their nursery which at the time of its opening already attracted 12 girls.

Sliema Wanderers are sharing MFA's vision of improving women's football at grassroots level through which both the club and the national team benefit. As a gesture of appreciation and incentive to proceed with their contribution in women's football, MFA donated a set of new bibs and balls to the nursery.

Currently, the nursery holds two weekly sessions on Thursday (1800hours) and on Saturday (1030hours) at the Sliema Wanderers Tigne Complex. Karen Heneghan, Scott Mclaggan, Maltese international Raina Giusti, Josie Cassar and Andrew Azzopardi have all taken a coaching role at the nursery.

While it augurs to Sliema Wanderers to keep on working upon their mission of having a well-established Girls' Nursery, the MFA Youth & Grassroots Sector hopes that this project will help other clubs to embark on a similar project and promote women's football at youth level.
