Kirkop United against Mgarr United’s encounter will open the 3rd round from the BOV Women’s 1st Division. A match which on paper may not provide anything at stake, but a win on either side would definitely put the winning side on the driving seat for a positive streak in the final fixtures of the season. While Kirkop have lost their last league match against Raiders (Luxol) by two goals to nil, Mgarr snatched an important draw against title challengers Birkirkara which enabled them to remain on course for the second spot. Both teams have already met twice this season, with Mgarr winning the opening match 2-0 and the second meeting ending in a stalemate.  Kathryn Ellul (Kirkop United): ‘’We have prepared well for this match and having had an international break last week, we emphasized a lot on physical and tactical sessions and hopefully we can apply them in our fixture against Mgarr United and achieve a positive result.’’ Rachel Borg (Mgarr United): ‘’To prepare yourself well for a match, you need to prepare both body and mind for what is about to come and that is what we did. Me and my team mates are all aware that if we ware not focused, we won’t perform well. The 1-1 draw against Birkirkara was a very positive result us and it motivates us a lot for our next match against Kirkop. We want to win at all costs to keep on challenging for the second place.’’ 1st round & 2nd round encounters:1.      Kirkop United 0-2 Mgarr United2.      Mgarr United 0-0 Kirkop United Standings (BOV Women’s 1st Division):1.      Hibernians – 28 points2.      Birkirkara – 22 points3.      Mgarr United – 15 points4.      Raiders (Luxol) – 9 points5.      Kirkop United – 8 points6.      Pembroke Athleta – 1 point
