BOV Women's 1st Div
BOV Women's 2nd Div

Both BOV Women’s First and Second Division will commence their second round schedules this evening, with Birkirkara and Swieqi United leading both tiers respectively.

BOV Women’s First Division

Title chasers Hibernians will be in action against Gozo, in a match which they target to win to leapfrog leaders Birkirkara for at least 24 hours. Meanwhile, the Gozitans are still joint-bottom with Raiders (Luxol) at one point, and they are in search of some points as quickly as possible if they want to keep track with the teams above them.

Raiders and Kirkop United will be meeting each other in the second match of the evening. Raiders have only managed to collect one point from their first five outings of the domestic campaign and they aim to change their fortunes in the second round, eyeing a win against Kirkop. On the other hand, the latter have enjoyed a positive start to the season, and despite collecting six points from a possible 15, they have put up positive displays on which their First Division status will rely throughout the season.

Leaders Birkirkara will face Mgarr United in what it is undoubtedly the match of the week. While a win for Birkirkara, would see the Stripes cement their lead, three points on the other side would mean that Mgarr could level points with Birkirkara, so keep an eye out for this mouth-watering contest.

BOV Women’s Second Division

This may be only their fifth match of the season, but it could already mean a lot for their season’s fate. Mosta and Hamrun Spartans will face each other in a very intriguing contest. The Blues are currently second, five points behind leaders Swieqi United while Hamrun have collected only three points from the four fixtures they featured in. A win for Mosta, would leave Hamrun behind them and would definitely see them as one of Swieqi’s main challengers for the title, while a win for the Spartans would put the latter back in track, at least for the promotion race.

Also, the other title challengers Tarxien Rainbows will cross swords with Kirkop United Team B, in a match which they will strive to take maximum points home, in order to keep track of leaders Swieqi. On the other hand, Kirkop are still to collect their first points of the season after ending on the losing side in their first four outings.
