The BOV Women's Leagues continue today.

Division One leaders Birkirkara take on struggling Raiders (Luxol) in their matchday 13 encounter, tonight.

The Stripes will be looking to extend their unbeaten run with the aim of cementing top spot in the BOV Women’s First Division ahead of their crucial match against holders Hibernians.

Meanwhile, Raiders lost against fellows-in-distress Gozo last week and are now joint-bottom with the Gozitans with four points. (2015, @Charles Abela Stadium – Mosta)

Meanwhile, the early kick-off features Mġarr United and Gozo.

Having lost to Hibernians in their previous match, Mġarr are eyeing three points from this match to leapfrog Kirkop United, at least temporarily.

On the other hand, Gozo have gained three useful points against Raiders to boost their play-off chances.

Coincidentally, Gozo and Mġarr United will meet again on Sunday… an excellent opportunity for both to register maximum points in this double-header and turn around their seasons. (today, 1800, @Mġarr Stadium; 1100 on Sunday, @Kerċem Ajax Stadium)

Wrapping up this matchday is the game between Kirkop United and Hibernians tomorrow.

While the Reds are putting on commendable displays in one of their best seasons in recent years, the current champions are still hoping to produce a final push to defend their title.

Three points are a must for them as their next league opponents are leaders Birkirkara, a fixture which could have a decisive effect on the outcome of this year’s championship race. (tomorrow 2015, @Charles Abela Stadium – Mosta)

BOV Women’s Second Division

In the second tier, leaders Swieqi United are coasting as they head the division with 27 points and also have a game in hand.

Today’s match against Kirkop United B should cause them no trouble, on paper, as they aiming to secure promotion as quickly as possible.

Nonetheless, Kirkop have managed to pick up four points this season, causing upsets on a couple of occasions, and they will be motivated to give Swieqi a tough challenge tonight. (today 2015, @Żebbuġ Ground)

Ħamrun Spartans and Tarxien Rainbows lock horns in the other fixture.

Both teams are in a mid-table position, the Rainbows third on 10 points, three ahead of the Spartans. (today, 2015, @Mġarr Ground)
