Slovakia coach Kozak calls squad for Malta qualifier

Slovakia coach Jan Kozak has named a provisional 24-man squad for the 2018 World Cup Group F qualifier against Malta on March 26.


Kozak's initial selection features several foreign-based players, including Napoli stalwart Marek Hamsik. Milan Skriniar, of Serie A club Sampdoria, Martin Skrtel, the Fenerbahce defender, and AC Milan midfielder Juraj Kucka.

 

Slovakia cruised to a 4-0 home win over Lithuania in their last qualifier to take their tally to six points from four games.

 

With three wins and one draw, England lead Group F on 10 points followed by Slovenia on eight. Lithuania are behind third-placed Slovakia on five points, Scotland have four while Malta are still without a point.
