McDonalds FOOTBALLPLUS Festival at Tedesco Stadium on May 1

The fourth McDonalds FOOTBALLPLUS For Kids Festival takes place on Monday, May 1, at the Victor Tedesco Stadium. Hundreds of children are expected to venture to Ħamrun for Monday’s festival which will feature the participation of teams from six nurseries, namely Ħamrun Spartans, Luqa St Andrews, Paola Hibs, Pietà Hotspurs, Fgura United and St Andrews. The theme of Monday’s festival is LET THEM PLAY. The aim is to encourage coaches and parents to improve their own behaviour, ethics and attitudes while watching kids play football. Apart from the matches, which kick off at 8.30am, the festival’s programme also includes tours to the MUSEUM and Scouts headquarters The fifth and final event from this year’s series of festivals is scheduled for May 21 at the Dingli Ground. Starting in February, the first three festivals were held in Żurrieq, Żebbuġ and Mġarr. This educational programme, for boys and girls, was inaugurated last year by the Malta Football Association in collaboration with the Youth Football Association and with the support of McDonalds (Malta) Limited. The four chief aims of the McDonalds FOOTBALLPLUS For Kids are growth and retention among the younger generations, further promotion of the local game, improve the image of local football, and the development of better football players.
