Michael Mifsud has urged the supporters to get behind Malta in Friday’s eagerly-anticipated World Cup Group F qualifier against England at the National Stadium. The veteran Malta striker, the country’s most representative player with 125 appearancea and all-time leading scorer for the national team with 40 goals, said: “We know that the ground will be full. The fact that we are playing England enticed many supporters to come and watch this game but I believe that the majority of the fans will be cheering our team.” Mifsud, whose fame in England shot skywards after his scoring exploits during his spell with Coventry, is looking forward with cautious optimism to the game. “I’m looking forward to the game,” he added. “Our preparations are going well, the coach and technical staff are doing their utmost and the players are looking sharp in training. Everyone knows that it is a very difficult match but we will surely be giving our best and, why not, hopefully gain a good result.”  WATCH MICHAEL'S MIFSUD INTERVIEW ON WWW.TAKEASEAT.ORG.MT
