Pre-selection trials, organised solely by the Malta Football Association Technical Centre, will be held for prospective football students born in 2007 who wish to apply for entry to the National Sport School (NSS) in 2018. These pre-selection trials will take place in February and are by application. They will comprise two 60-minute sessions conducted by MFA Technical Centre coaches whereby participants will be assessed on four key areas namely, technique, insight of the game, personality and speed. All participants will be awarded marks for each area and a general mark is given at the end of each session. The same procedure will be followed in the second session. Scores from the two sessions will be aggregated and the top 20 outfield players plus the best four goalkeepers will then qualify for application for entry to the National Sport School. Results of trials are final and cannot be contested. It is a mandatory for prospective NSS applicants to have participated in these pre-selection trials organised by the MFA Technical Centre. The Pre-Selection Trial Application Form and MFA Emergency Consent Form may be downloaded by following this link: https://www.mfa.com.mt/en/downloads/maindownloads/bycategory/9/name/asc/10/1/other.htm
