The Malta U-19 squad are finalising their preparations for their participation in the 12th edition of the International Tournament Juvenile Amateur Football, better known as the Roma Caput Mundi.  Coach Wayne Attard has selected a squad of 20 players for this tournament, to be played between Monday and Friday. The majority of the players in Attard’s squad are on the books of local clubs but two are based in Italy – goalkeeper Rashed Al Tumi is part of Palermo’s youth sector and defender Romario Camilleri is with Gubbio. Several players who represented Malta in the UEFA U-17 Qualifying Tournament, held here in October, have been promoted to the U-19 squad. Malta open their Group B commitments against Albania on Monday at 3pm. Their second match is against the Lazio Regional Selection the following day and, on Thursday, the Maltese team take on Greece EPS Pellas in their final group match. The winners of the two groups will contest the final on Friday at 10.30am. The Malta U-19 contingent, led by MFA Technical Director Robert Gatt, was due to travel to Rome on Sunday. The Malta U-19 squad regularly participates in this annual tournament which enables the young players to play in competitive matches and gain experience at international level. MALTA U-19 SQUADGOALKEEPERSRashed Al Tumi (Palermo), Duncan Formosa (St Andrews). DEFENDERSRomario Camilleri (Gubbio Calcio), Dejan Debono (St Andrews), Nicholas Farrugia (Birkirkara), Zachary Grech (Balzan), Liam Mackay (Pietà Hotspurs), Matthew Portelli (Hibernians), Andreas Vella (Hibernians), Carlo Zammit Lonardelli (Birkirkara). MIDFIELDERSAyrton Attard (Birkirkara), Shaun Dimech (Valletta), Christian Gauci (San Ġwann FC), Paul Mbong (Birkirkara), Alexander Satariano (St Andrews), Bradley Sciberras (Floriana), Jamie Sixsmith (St Andrews). FORWARDSClyde Bouvet (Pietà Hotspurs FC), Adam Magri Overand (St Andrews), Ryan Tonna (Valletta).
