CR LAZIO 2MALTA      0 An improved performance from the Malta U-19 side was not enough to yield the first points at the Roma Caput Mundi Tournament as our youngsters went down to a 2-0 defeat to the Lazio Regional Selection in their second Group B match on Tuesday.  After a goalless first half in which the young Maltese team were more than a match for their opponents, the Lazio selection took the lead early in the second half through a penalty. Malta staged a bold reaction as they pressed for an equaliser after the change of ends but Lazio sealed the issue with a second goal following a fast counter-attack just before the final whistle. The Malta U-19 team meet Greece EPS Pellas in their final group match on Thursday at 15.00. Lazio, who beat Greece EPS Pellas 3-0 in their opening Group B match, are level on six points with Albania who also made it two wins in two games. On Tuesday, Albania followed up their 5-1 win over Malta with a 2-0 victory over the Greek side to set up a group decider against Lazio. In Group A, Italy’s U-18 Lega Nazionale Dilettanti claimed their second successive win after trouncing England’s Schools Selection 4-0. Romania were 3-1 winners over Wales. MALTA’S FORMATIONDuncan Formosa, Liam McKay (40 Matthew Portelli), Zak Grech, Romario Camilleri, Dejan Debono, Nicholas Farrugia (64 Carlo Zammit Lonardelli), Ayrton Attard, Christian Gauci, Shaun Dimech, Clyde Bouvet (56 Ryan Tonna), Paul Mbong.
