The Maltese youngsters had the better of Liechtenstein 2-0 in their final match on Wednesday to secure top spot following wins over Andorra (9-8 on penalties) and Gibraltar (6-0) “For most of the players in our squad, this has been their first experience on the international stage,” Turner told Take A Seat. “They have done very well and the future is bright for these youngsters if they keep working with dedication and maintain a positive attitude.” Turner said the team’s performances confirmed that our standard at this level is good and the experience can only help the players in their footballing development. “We know that the results were not the top priority as this was a development mini-tournament but it’s always a good feeling when you win against foreign opponents,” the former Malta and Sliema Wanderers midfielder said. “The experience our players gained this week will be of great benefit for them as they pursue a successful playing career.” Read the full story here: http://www.takeaseat.org.mt/news/news-articles/5a65fdc9ce834e15bce762e9/uefa-tournament-experience-will-benefit-our-players-turner
