On a dramatic evening, St Andrews and Mosta made sure of retaining their BOV Premier League status, Tarxien Rainbows will be involved in a relegation/promotion play-off with ┼╗ejtun Corinthians and Naxxar Lions have been relegated.

St Andrews accomplished their mission after gaining the point they needed in a goalless draw with Tarxien at the National Stadium.

In a match of few chances, the Rainbows had a good opportunity on 21 minutes when Eduard Calin hit the crossbar with a free-kick from the right.

Ten minutes from half-time, Sean Cipriott’s cross-shot from the left dropped on the crossbar before being cleared.

Naxxar Lions have lost their BOV Premier League status despite ending their league commitments with a 3-0 victory over Senglea Athletic at the Centenary Stadium.

The Lions finished on 22 points, a point behind Tarxien Rainbows.

Naxxar were all over their opponents in the first half.

Brazilian striker Yuri de Messias netted two quick goals in the eighth and 12th minute followed by a Manolito Micallef header in the 33rd minute who made it 3-0.
