Vella names Malta U21 squad for Georgia friendly on Tuesday

The Malta Under-21 team will be back in action on Tuesday at the Centenary Stadium (kick-off 5pm), this time in a friendly match against Georgia. This match is intended to aid the team's preparations ahead of an intriguing double header in October when our U-21s host Hungary and Cyprus in the last two Group 6 qualifiers from the UEFA Under-21 European Championship. Following Friday’s 4-0 defeat to a very strong Belgium side, the U-21 team resumed training with two sessions over the weekend with coach Silvio Vella assessing his players before finalising his squad ahead of Tuesday’s match. No big changes in the 19-man list with Zachary Brincat (Mosta) and Yannick Yankam (Qormi) dropping out of the squad following the game on Friday while Valletta defender Nicholas Pulis has been included in the final squad for the Georgia match warm-up. MALTA U-21 SQUAD Goalkeepers – Jake Galea (Sliema Wanderers), Matthew Grech (Floriana). Defenders – Jean Borg (Valletta), Kurt Shaw (Sliema Wanderers), Karl Micallef (Ħamrun Spartans), Dunstan Vella (Hibernians), Nicholas Pulis (Valletta), Kurt Zammit (Birirkara), Michele Sansone (Sliema Wanderers),. Midfielders – Myles Beerman (Birkirkara), Matthew Guillaumier (Birkirkara), Nikolai Muscat (Gżira United), Zach Scerri (Gżira United), Dylan Agius (Pieta’ Hotspurs), Jake Grech (Birkirkara). Forwards – Jurgen Degabriele (Hibernians), Jan Busuttil (Pietà Hotspurs), Kyrian Nwoko (Valletta), Christian Mercieca (Victoria Hotspurs).
