Gżira United make it 60 clean sheets in the top division

10 – Mario Fontanella’s first goal in Valletta’s 5-0 win was his 10th of the season to consolidate his position as the top of the scorers’ list. The Italian has also netted in Valletta’s last six consecutive victories.

10 – Paul Chimezie’s winning goal in the 2-1 win against Floriana was Pietà Hotspurs’ 10th goal of the season. Incidentally, Floriana’s opener, through Juninho Cabral, was also the Greens’ 10th goal this season. Chimezie’s goal was also the 10th conceded by Floriana goalkeeper Ini Etim Akpan in 2018-19.


20 – St Andrew’s defender Adrian Borg’s close-range goal in their 2-1 defeat to Senglea Athletic was the 20th headed goal of the season. First header of this season was scored by Sliema Wanderers youngster Kurt Shaw in their 2-0 victory over Valletta on 18th August, 2018.

40 – Valletta’s 5-0 win over Mosta was the 40th time the Lilywhites had produced five goals in a top-flight match... the first time was against Marsa (5-0) on 18th May, 1985. Their first ever 5-0 win in the top league was registered against Msida Rovers on 7th February, 1925.

60 – Gżira United’s 3-0 win over Balzan means that they kept a clean sheet for the 60th time in the top flight.


100 – In their 1-0 victory over Sliema Wanderers, Hibernians forward Tiago Adan Fonseca was the 100th player to be shown a yellow card during the first half ... and the 50th caution shown at the Centenary Stadium this season.


150 – Pietà Hotspurs forward Paul Chimezie’s winning goal in their win against Floriana was the 150th goal of the season.


160 – Gżira United forward Haruna Zambuk Garba netted a hat-trick during the 3-0 victory over Balzan. His third goal was the 160th goal of the season.


370 – Sliema Wanderers’ 1-0 defeat against Hibernians was their 370th in the top flight.


400 – Floriana’s 2-1 loss against Pietà Hotpsurs was their 400th in the top division ... the first one dates back to 7th December, 1913, against Msida Rangers (0-2).


700 – Floriana defender Emerson Marcelina reached the 700-minute mark during the defeat against Pietà Hotspurs. The only time he’s been substituted this season was in their 4-1 victory over Senglea Athletic... in the 70th minute on 6th October.


800 – During the 1-0 defeat to Hibernians, Sliema Wanderers winger John Mintoff made the 800th appereance of the season by a Maltese player in a total of 56 matches. He came on for Ryan Fenech in the 85th minute. The age categories are: Under-21 (143); 21-25 (241); 25-30 (219); Over-30 (197).


1,850 – Caetano Calil’s second strike during the 2-1 win against Birkirkara, marked Ħamrun Spartans’ 1,850th goal in the top flight.


4,500 – Pietà Hotspurs’ 2-1 victory over Floriana was the 4,500th match of the Premier League.
