Qormi’s Azzopardi makes it a first for goalkeepers

1 – Qormi goalkeeper Jamie Azzopardi is the first goalkeeper to be named BOV Player of the Match this season. During the 2-1 defeat to joint-leaders Hibernians, Azzopardi kept his team in the game with a string of important saves.
 


 10 – Friday’s 2-2 draw between Balzan and Ħamrun Spartans was the 10th game for match official Roberto Vella as assistant referee.

 

20 – Tarxien Rainbows striker Michele Paolucci netted the 20th brace of the season in their 3-0 victory over Pietà Hotspurs. The first brace of the season was scored by Sliema Wanderers midfielder Ryan Fenech in their 3-0 win over Valletta.

 

40 – Younes Marzouk’s second goal for Sliema Wanderers in their 2-0 victory over Senglea Athletic was the 40th goal scored at the Centenary Stadium this season. 

 

60 – Qormi midfielder Tensior Gusman scored the 60th goal by a Maltese player this season. The young midfielder narrowed the deficit in Qormi’s 2-1 loss against Hibernians. 

 

70 – Birkirkara’s 3-0 victory over Mosta means that the Stripes are now enjoying a +70 goal difference in their direct encounters with the Blues.

 

100 – Hibernians midfielder Johann Bezzina is the 100th scorer of the season. He opened the scoring for the Paolites in their 2-1 win over Qormi.

 

200 – Ħamrun Spartans striker Kevin Tulimieri has scored the 200th goal of the season. The Italian put the Spartans ahead (2-1) in their 2-2 draw against Balzan.

 

300 – Birkirkara striker Michael Mifsud’s third goal in their 3-0 win over Mosta was his 300th on his 720th appearance of his illustrious career. 

 

400 – Tarxien Rainbows midfielder Matthew Brincat is the 400th substitute to be used this season. He came on for German defender Jens Alexander Wemmer four minutes from time during their 3-0 victory over Pietà Hotspurs.
