Valletta's Fontanella nets 16th goal, Mosta end long wait

2 – Mosta’s 2-1 victory against Birkirkara was the second in 31 direct encounters. The first one dates back to 17th January, 1988... a 2-0 victory.
 


16 – Valletta striker Mario Fontanella netted his 16th goal of the season during the 4-0 win against St Andrew’s to consolidate his position as the BOV Premier League leading scorer. It was also Fontanella’s 67th goal in 110 top-flight appearances in Malta.

 

25 – The average age of the 873 subsitutes used in 168 matches is exactly 25.

 

40 – Qormi midfielder Yannick Yankam was the 40th Maltese player to be voted BOV Player of the Match in the 3-1 victory over Hibernians on Monday.

 

70 – During the 3-1 victory over Hibernians, Qormi broke the deadlock from Yankam’s powerful header. It was the 70th headed goal of the season... with an average age of 28.87.

 

100 – For the third time this season, a total of 100 Maltese players featured during last weekend’s programme. The other two were matchdays 7 and 13. 

 

330 – Debutant Adam Magri Overend was the 330th substitute to play at the National Stadium this season. The young midfielder came on for Aidan Friggieri in the 87 minute of the Saints’ 4-0 loss against Valletta. 

 

450 – Mosta forward Davy Angan N’Guessan’s winning goal in his team’s 2-1 victory over Birkirkara was the 450th of the season.

 

470 – Qormi’s Brazilian defender Romeu Romau was shown the 470th yellow card of the season. He was cautioned in the 85th minute during his team’s win against Hibernians.
