St George’s and Fgura United have set up a decider for the BOV Second Division title after finishing their league campaign on top with the same total of points.  The two title contenders secured promotion to the BOV First Division League after winning their last matches on Saturday. St George’s beat Birżebbuġa St Peter’s 2-0 with goals from Anthony Ewurum and Dylan Sammut. Fgura United attained a 4-0 victory over Sta Venera Lightnings. Thomas Grech, Shawn Borg, Williams Abeeb and Giovanni Galea were on target for Fgura United who finished level with St George’s on 53 points. The BOV Second Division title decider will be played this Friday at the Centenary Stadium. Kick-off is 7pm. Third-placed Mġarr United, who edged Kalkara 2-1 last weekend, will contest the promotion-relegation play-off against the team finishing from third bottom in the 2018-19 BOV First Division. Żabbar St Patrick, third-from-bottom in the Second Division, will face Msida St Joseph – third in the BOV Third Division – in the other play-off. SIRENS CHAMPIONS Meanwhile, Sirens have secured the BOV First Division title after opening an unassailable lead over second-placed Gudja United. Sirens, who sealed promotion with a few matches to spare, drew 0-0 against Vittoriosa Stars last weekend to gain the point they needed to make sure of the title. The St Paul's Bay outfit will receive the BOV First Division championship trophy after their final league match against Swieqi United Gudja, who have also secured promotion, meet San Ġwann this evening.
