The Malta Under-21 team will host Bosnia & Herzegovina in an international friendly on Wednesday at the National Stadium (kick-off 18.00). Coach Silvio Vella has been working tirelessly with his team for the last three weeks since the end of the domestic season. This game is yet another test for the U21 boys prior to the start of competition in September with a double away fixture to Northern Ireland and Ukraine as Group 8 of the 2021 UEFA Under-21 Championship qualifying round gets underway. Eighteen of the 20 players in the squad were together for the Turkey training camp in March that included two friendly matches – a 2-1 win over Turkmenistan followed by a narrow 1-0 defeat to Kosovo. From the last call-up, Birkirkara's young forward Ayrton Attard is the new face in this squad, replacing the injured Marcus Grima. Sliema Wanderers forward Omar Elouni returns from injury to replace young Paul Mbong who was also part of the squad in Turkey three months ago. Entrance for Wednsday's Under-21 friendly match is free. MALTA U21 SQUAD GoalkeepersTimmy Aquilina (Sliema Wanderers), Andreas Vella (Mosta). DefendersJean Borg (Valletta), Kurt Shaw (Sliema Wanderers), Connor Zammit (Hibernians), Michele Sansone (Sliema Wanderers), Nicholas Pulis (Valletta), Zachary Grech (Pembroke Athleta). MidfieldersMyles Beerman (Gżira United), Gary Camilleri (Senglea Athletic), Neil Frendo (FK Beograd), Russell Fenech (Sirens), David Xuereb (Hibernians), Aidan Jake Friggieri (St Andrews), Jan Tanti (San Ġwann), Zack Cassar (Senglea Athletic), Ayrton Attard (Birkirkara). ForwardsJan Busuttil (Pietà Hotspurs), Zachary Brincat (Mosta), Omar Elouni (Sliema Wanderers).
