Paris, Micallef and Casha elected as MFA Vice-Presidents

Dr Matthew Paris, Ludovico Micallef and Adrian Casha were elected as the three Vice-Presidents of the Malta Football Association during the on-going Annual General Meeting. Dr Paris polled 103 of the 135 votes cast to be re-elected along with Micallef who collected 67. Casha secured the third seat with 60 votes. The other three candidates for the election of Malta FA Vice-Presidents were Dr Peter Fenech (59 votes), Dr Cory Greenland (58) and Alex Manfrè (23). Ivan Mizzi was uncontested for the post of Malta FA Treasurer. EXECUTIVE COMMITTEE ELECTIONSThe elections of the members of the Malta FA Executive Committee for season 2019-20 were also held during the Annual General Meeting. Dr Ian Micallef and Paul Spiteri were the only two candidates for the two Premier Division seats while Godfrey Borg and Paul Zammit will represent the Second Division clubs on the Exco next season. The assembly voted to elect the Exco members in representation of the First Division, Third Division and Member Clubs Overall. Joseph Sammut (91 votes) and Laurence Seychell (56) won the two First Division seats. The two Third Division posts went to Dr Greenland (78 votes) and Chris Grech (68). Chris Muscat (50) and Claudio Martinelli (47) will also form part of the Malta FA Exco next season after polling the highest number of votes in the election of the members representing member clubs overall. The other members of the Executive Committee for season 2019-20 are Lawrence Aquilina and Lino Bartolo (Member Associations), Dr Samuel Azzopardi (Gozo FA) and Joe Micallef (Youth FA). The Malta FA Exco is also composed of the Association’s top officials, namely President Bjorn Vassallo, General Secretary Dr Angelo Chetcuti, Vice-Presidents Dr Matthew Paris, Ludovico Micallef and Adrian D. Casha, and Ivan Mizzi, the Malta FA Treasurer.
