Malta FA delegation meets HE President Dr George Vella

A delegation from the Malta Football Association met His Excellency President of Malta Dr George Vella at the San Anton Palace on Monday afternoon. The Malta FA delegation was made up of President Bjorn Vassallo, Vice-Presidents Adrian Casha, Ludovico Micallef and Dr Matthew Paris, and Dr Angelo Chetcuti, the Association’s General Secretary. The courtesy visit to the President of Malta was the first for the Association's administration since the election of Vassallo as Malta FA President last month. During the meeting, the Malta FA officials and HE Dr Vella discussed the role of football in the Maltese society. The discussion focused on the social responsibility aspect as the huge popularity of football and its ability to bring people together make it a powerful vehicle to promote good causes as well as to raise awareness about important issues. The Malta FA supports several social responsibility projects and NGOs through its Football For Life programme with the Malta Community Chest Fund Foundation (MCCFF) being one of the main beneficiaries. Vassallo, the Malta FA President, also explained his plans for the future of Maltese football in line with his Vision 2027 document. He presented HE Dr Vella with a signed Malta shirt to be auctioned in aid of the MCCFF.
