After opening their 2019/2020 campaign in style, Birkirkara and Mġarr United will be looking to maintain their winning start as they face Kirkop United and Mosta respectively on Matchday two of the BOV Women’s League.

Mosta vs Mġarr United (Tuesday - Mosta Ground, 20.15)

Mġarr United enjoyed a positive opening to the new season after clinching a 4-0 win over Kirkop United. Debutant Francesca Chircop was among the scorers as the Greens have increased their pool of players as they look to challenge Birkirkara for the title.  Victory is imperative for the Greens as they face Birkirkara next.

Mosta, on the other hand, will be making their season debut after their bye on week one. Led by coach Ray Sant, the Blues will be looking to improve on last season’s results and make it hard for their opponents.

Hibernians vs Swieqi United (Tuesday - Mġarr Ground, 20.15)

Hibernians and Swieqi United played a prominent role in the women’s transfer window as numerous players made the move from the Paolites to the Oranges, including Malta skipper Dorianne Theuma who was confirmed by Swieqi just last week.

In their season-opener, the Oranges could not go beyond a 1-1 draw against Raiders Għargħur as former Hibs Ruth Steer Chetham grabbed the goal.

On the other hand, Hibernians endured a difficult opening week as they were heavily defeated by champions Birkirkara.
Coach Shawn Meilak will have another difficult task to deal with on Matchday Two as he looks to raise his team's performance level.

Kirkop United vs Birkirkara (Wednesday - Dingli Ground, 20.15)

Matchday two comes to an end with defending champions Birkirkara taking on Kirkop United, at the Dingli Ground.

Melania Bajada’s team opened their title quest on a high with a big win over Hibernians. Newly-signed Loza Abera did not take long to show her worth as she netted a brace on her Stripes debut.

Meanwhile, Kenneth Constantino’s Kirkop United lost to Mġarr United on the opening week. The Reds might not be tipped to challenge for the title, but will definitely be looking to give Birkirkara a hard time.

MD2 bye: Raiders Għargħur.
