Birkirkara, Mġarr United meet in top women’s league match

Matchday three of the BOV Women’s League has a top game in store as joint-leaders Birkirkara and Mġarr United will take on each other on Tuesday.
Swieqi United vs Kirkop United (Tuesday – Mosta Ground, 20.15)
After opening their 2019/2020 season with a 1-1 draw against Raiders Għargħur, Swieqi United obtained their first win after beating Hibernians last week.
It was a fine display from the Oranges who had three players scoring a brace – Emma Xuereb, Jade Flask and Kelly Agius Pace – together with youngster Celeste Grech who added the other goal.
Their first goal of the season was scored by Ruth Steer Chetham.
Two points behind the joint-leaders, Swieqi United will be eyeing another three points to keep the top position in sight.
Kirkop United, on their part, have endured a tough start to the season with two straight defeats at the hands of Mġarr United and Birkirkara.
Raiders Għargħur vs Mosta (Tuesday – Dingli Ground, 20.15)
After last week’s break, Raiders Għargħur return to action as they take on Mosta. The Għargħur-based team opened their season with a 1-1 stalemate and will be looking to claim their first win of the season.
On the other hand, Mosta opened their season with a defeat against Mġarr United. Like Kirkop and Hibernians, the Blues will be looking to get off the mark.
Mġarr United vs Birkirkara (Tuesday – Mġarr Ground, 20.15)

Mġarr have scored 10 goals in their first two games with Brenda Borg leading the way with three goals after her hat-trick against Mosta.
