BOV Women's League

Following the international break, the 2019-20 BOV Women’s League resumes this week with three fixtures, including the clash between joint-leaders Mġarr United and Swieqi United, who are just three points behind, in third place. Birkirkara, who are sharing top spot with Mġarr United, are not in action this week.

Hibernians vs Raiders Għargħur (Tuesday, Mosta Ground – 20.15)

One of the Tuesday’s fixtures see Hibernians face Raiders Għargħur in what promises to be an interesting encounter between two sides who are lying in the bottom places of the championship.

After a difficult start to their league campaign, Hibernians cancelled the zero from their points tally after a hard-fought 1-1 draw with Mosta in their previous outing.

Raiders, on their part, are coming from a defeat against Mġarr United and will be looking to bounce back as they seek to move clear of the bottom places.

Kirkop United vs Mosta (Tuesday, Dingli Ground – 20.15)

Kirkop United will be looking for their first points of the season when they face Mosta at the Dingli Ground.

So far, the Reds have found the going tough with 16 goals conceded and only one scored in three games. Kirkop have not had the easiest of openings as they have played against the top three teams in the league - Mġarr United, Birkirkara and Swieqi United.

On the other hand, Mosta are coming from two positive results, having held Raiders Għargħur to a 0-0 draw and Hibernians to a 1-1 draw. They have two points from three games played.

Mġarr United vs Swieqi United (Wednesday - Mġarr Ground - 20.15)

The highlight game of the week is the clash between leaders Mġarr United and Swieqi United.

Three points separate the two teams as the Greens lead on 10 while Swieqi are three points adrift.

Mġarr are on a high after their comfortable win over Raiders Għargħur, joining Birkirkara not only on points but also in the number of goals scored – 20.

Forward Haley Bugeja is leading the top scorers list with eight goals, having topped the list last season as well.

Meanwhile, Swieqi lost 4-1 to Birkirkara in their previous encounter and will be striving to bounce back to keep up the pressure on Mġarr and Birkirkara.

Mġarr United, Birkirkara 10; Swieqi United 7; Mosta, Raiders Għargħur 2; Hibernians 1; Kirkop United 0.

MD5 bye: Birkirkara.
