FIFA referee Matthew De Gabriele has been appointed by UEFA to officiate the UEFA Youth League Group G match between Benfica vs Zenit St Petersburg. The match is being played on Tuesday, 10th December at the Caixa Futebol Campus in Seixal, kicking off at 16.00.
The other members of the refereeing team are FIFA assistant referee Edward Spiteri and debutant elite assistant referee Duncan Spencer. Aged 22, Spencer is the first student of the Malta FA Referees Academy to receive an international appointment since the academy’s launch in 2011. Portuguese Joao Filipe Malheiro Pinto will act as fourth official.
