The 2019-20 BOV Premier League returns this weekend following the break for the FA Trophy quarter-finals. Below are some facts and figures following matchday 19 of the league championship...


10 – Brazilian midfielder Diego Venancio netted his third Floriana goal with a long-distance freekick in the 4-0 win against Tarxien Rainbows. This was the 10th freekick, scored by seven different players against eight different goalkeepers.

 

30 – Steve Pisani’s second goal in the 2-0 league win over Gudja United, was Balzan’s 30th goal of the season … and it was also the 30th conceded by Gudja United.

 

100 – Birkirkara’s 2-1 league win over Hibernians on Matchday 19 was the 100th victory of the season.

 

100 – Valletta’s Maltese players are the first to reach 100 full matches (9,000 minutes). Second place in this list is occupied by Hibernians (97) followed by Birkirkara (85).

 

170 – Jake Grech’s converted penalty for Hibernians in their 2-1 defeat against Birkirkara was the 170th goal of the season netted during the first period.

 

440 – Birkirkara’s 2-1 win against Hibernians was their 440th victory in the Premier League. 

 

1,500 – Gżira United midfielder, Nikolai Muscat, played 1,500 minutes (in 18 matches). He was substituted by Andrew Cohen in the 76th minute of the 1-0 defeat against Valletta.
