Malta and Hibernians midfielder Dunstan Vella will be flying the Maltese flag in a series of FIFA 20 efriendly matches being played this week. The 23-year-old Vella, an avid FIFA20 player who is keeping Hibernians in the top positions of the inaugural BOV ePremier League, will team up with gamer Christian Spiteri who is Malta’s number one seed on PS4 and currently occupies top spot in the BOV ePremier League while representing Santa Lucia FC. Spiteri has also represented Malta in the eEURO 2020 qualifiers and, earlier this year, made it to the Last 16 of the FIFA eClub World Cup. The Maltese duo were due to take part in the inaugural FIFA eNations Stay and Play Cup but this tournament has been modified by FIFA and will instead comprise a series of efriendly matches in the initial phase.  Malta had been drawn in a lucrative group with Italy, Portugal and Spain. The Italian football federation (FIGC) have named Milan captain Alessio Romagnoli as their eplayer while Wolves forward Diogo Jota will lead Portugal. Spain had named DjMariio as their celebrity eplayer. The group phase of the FIFA eNations Stay and Play Cup was due to kick off today (Tuesday) but following the late change in the tournament's format, the efootball project managers of the four national associations are in discussions to schedule the efriendly matches. In the meantime, Vella and Spiteri are currently playing in a number of efriendly matches this evening.
