2 – Steve Borg’s stoppage-time goal, which earned Malta a dramatic 1-0 victory against Latvia, was his second for Malta. The defender became Gżira United’s second scorer for the national team after Juan Corbalan. 2 – Two sets of brothers featured in the Latvia vs Malta match – Joseph and Paul Mbong for Malta and Davis and Janis Ikaunieks for Latvia. 3 – Malta’s 1-0 win over Latvia was the third with the same scoreline away from home in competitive matches. The other two were against Estonia (12/05/1993) and Armenia (07/06/2013). Apart from captaining Malta, this win marked Agius’s 50th match away from home.  75 – Steve Borg’s header was the 75th goal for Malta away from home. Eddie Theobald was the first player to find the net for Malta away from home in a competitive match - in the 6-1 defeat against Denmark on 28 June, 1962, during the European Championship Qualifier. 400 – Steve Borg has played the highest number of minutes for Malta under Devis Mangia’s leadership – 400.
