Dingli defender Farrugia reaches 400-match club milestone

The Brazilian capped his debut by scoring a brace in the win against Sirens.  100 – Goalkeeper Jake Galea (24) made his 100th appearance in the BOV Premier League against Gżira United on Saturday. He made 48 of these for his nursery club St Andrews, 40 for his current club Sliema Wanderers and 12 for Ħamrun Spartans.  170 – Sta Lucia’s 3-2 victory against Lija Athletic was the 170th match in the top division for Oliver Spiteri who has coached four teams (Mosta 11, Vittoriosa S. 32, Balzan 99, Sta Lucia 28). 400 – In the National Amateur League, Dingli Swallows defender Etienne Farrugia made his 400th appearance for the club in their match against Attard last Saturday. Farrugia, aged 39, is only the 10th player in Malta to play at least 400 official matches for their club. The other nine are Michael Galea (Birkirkara), Stefan Sultana (Ħamrun Spartans), Mario Muscat and Andrew Cohen (Hibernians), Noel Turner (Sliema Wanderers), Gilbert Agius, Kris Laferla and Nicky Saliba (Valletta) and Raymond Vella (Mellieħa).
