Knock-out competitions take centre-stage

The draws of the 2020/21 National Amateur Cup Quarte-Finals and the FA Trophy Preliminary Round were made this afternoon.


Eight teams are still in contention to win the inaugural National Amateur Cup with the four semi-finalists also earning a place in the initial round of the FA Trophy.

 

The quarter-finals draw resulted as follows:

Mellieħa vs Żurrieq
Melita v Birżebbuġa St Peter’s
Kalkara United v Msida St Joseph
Żabbar St Patrick v Siġġiewi

 

The quarter-final ties will be played on the weekend of the 12-13 December, 2020.

 

FA TROPHY

 

This season’s FA Trophy will kick off on 15 December with the first preliminary round matches. The draw featured the 15 BOV Challenge League teams, the nine teams in the Gozo FA Division One champions and the four eventual semi-finalists of the National Amateur Cup.

 

The last four-drawn teams – Qormi, Sannat Lions, Xaghra United and Swieqi United – received a bye into the next round.
