Performance analysis is widely considered as an essential aspect of the football coaching process. In line with its ongoing commitment to raise the standards of coaches and widen the range and variety of courses to cover all the key areas of coaching, the Technical Centre within the Malta Football Association is organising its first Match Analyst Course. Commencing on 12th April, 2021 the course encompasses three modules – tactics, video analysis and data. The course is being co-ordinated by Facundo Styk, the Head of Match Analysis Department at the Technical Centre, who said: “The match analyst’s role has become very important in the modern game. Match analysis has become a specialised role and an integral part of a team’s technical staff. “The match analyst has various responsibilities, including opposition analysis, match analysis, and player scouting by way of identifying the strengths and weaknesses of teams and individuals alike. The analysis is incorporated in the training programmes, both for teams and individual players, as well game plans and the tactical set-up of a team.” The course has a duration of 54 hours spread over five weeks followed by the final examination. The line-up of lecturers for this course includes members of the Malta FA coaching sector as well as foreign experts working for Juventus, the Italy Under-21 National Team and SICS, the renowned Italy-based match analysis company. Licensed coaches who would like to apply for this course can access mycomet by Clicking Here.
