F’laqgha kordjali l-ġimgħa filgħodu fil-Berġa ta’ Kastilja bejn il-Prim Ministru, Dr Robert Abela u l-President tal-MFA, Bjorn Vassallo, ġew diskussi temi mportanti fuq diversi proġetti u inizjattivi li l-Malta Football Association qed taħdem fuqhom b’mod proattiv u li huma parti mill-istrateġija varata fl-aħħar ġimgħat mill-Assoċjazzjoni.

Il-Gvern Malti filwaqt li laqa’ b’sodisfazzjon ir-riformi li kienu mfassla u li issa bdew jiġu mplimentati fl-aħħar xhur, irrikkonferma l-pożizzjoni tiegħu favur il-bidliet estensivi kemm rigward il-parti sportiva u kif ukoll fuq il-parti tal-governanza biex jissaħħu l-istrutturi tal-istess Assoċjazzjoni u tal-klabbs membri.

Din il-koperazzjoni bejn il-Gvern u l-MFA għandha wkoll twassal għal aktar investiment fl-infrastruttura sportiva li minnha fuq kuntest lokali ghandha tibbenefika l-familja kollha tal-futbol u f’livell internazzjonali jkunu mmodernizzati l-faċilitajiet biex pajjiżna jibqa’ kompetittiv fin-niċċa tat-turiżmu sportiv.

Malta FA strategy, government assistance discussed at meeting with Prime Minister

The projects and initiatives being undertaken by the Malta Football Association in sync with its recently-launched Strategy for Maltese Football were discussed during a meeting between Prime Minister Dr Robert Abela and Bjorn Vassallo, the Malta FA President, held this morning at Castille.

While commending the wide-reaching reforms which the Malta FA has started to implement, the Government reaffirmed its position in favour of extensive changes in the sporting sector as well as in governance to strengthen the structures of the Member Clubs and Member Associations.

This fruitful co-operation between the Government and the Malta FA is intended to yield further investment in the sports infrastructure which will be beneficial for the local football community while, at international level, the facilities will be modernised and upgraded so that our country remains competitive in the sports tourism niche.
