Malta FA saddened by death of Lolly Debattista

The Malta Football Association is deeply saddened by the news of the passing of Lolly Debattista at the age of 91.

He spent his entire football career with Floriana FC winning multiple honours spanning two decades.


He also featured 3 times for the National Team between 1957 and 1963, was also part of the historic first ever international match for Malta in February 1957 and the 3-2 defeat against Austria.


Debattista was also the first ever winner of the distinguished Player of the Year Award by the Malta Football Association, his career also included coaching stints with Ħamrun Spartans and Valletta FC.


The Malta FA conveys its sincere condolences to the family and friends of Lolly Debattista.
